Barcelona Airport,
located about 12 kilometres southwest of Barcelona city centre is
a popular city break and business destination. The Airport handles
a large number of domestic and international flights.
The airport has three terminals, and all equipped with the essential
passenger features. There are variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants.
ATMs (cash machines) are available in all terminals; full service
banking offices, which offer currency exchange services, are available
in Terminals A and B. There is a business center in Terminal B
Terminal A (TA)
Terminal A serves many airlines including Aeroflot, Air Algerie,
Air France, Air Malta, Alitalia, AlpiEagles, BMI Baby, Braathens,
Czech Airlines, Delta Airlines, Easy Jet, Egyptair, Gandalf Airlines,
German Wins, Go Fly LTD, Icelandair, Khalifa Airways, KLM, LOT (Polish
Airlines), Luxair, Meridiana SPA, Olympic, Portugalia, Royal Air
Maroc, SN Brussels, Sterling Europe, Swiss, TAP, Tarom, Transavia
Holland, Tunis Air, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Airlines and Volare
Airlines.
Terminal B (TB)
Terminal B serves Air Berlin, Air Dolomiti, Air Europa, Air Littoral,
Air Ukraine, Australian Airlines, British Airways, El-Al, Finnair,
Iberia, Lufthansa, and Spanair.
Terminal C (TC)
Terminal C serves the 'Puente Aéreo', an air shuttle service
that goes between Barcelona and Madrid, which is operated by Iberia
Airlines. It also serves general aviation companies
INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS
Tourist information desks (tel: (0)934 784 704 or 780 565) are located
in Terminals A and B; there is also a hotel information point in
Terminal B. Airport information desks can be found throughout the
airport, at six locations in Terminals A and B.
AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money and communications: Banks, bureaux de change and ATMs can
be found in Terminals A and B. There is also a post office on the
ground floor of Terminal B. Eating and drinking: There are restaurants,
cafeterias, and bars in all terminals. Shopping: Duty-free shopping
is available in Terminals A and B; there are also a range of other
shops in these two terminals. These include a jewelers, bookshop,
tobacconists, newsagents, music shop and shoe shop. Luggage: A left-luggage
office is situated in the Terminal B Arrivals area. A lost property
office is situated in the Bloque Técnico building (tel: 932
983 349). Other facilities: There is a pharmacy, a 24-hour medical
service, tour operators, and travel agents, and children’s
play areas.
DISABLED FACILITIES
The airport has lifts, escalators, and ramps. Reserved parking spaces
are also available for disabled travelers in the airport car park.
Disabled toilets are located throughout the airport and there are
also adapted-telephones at wheelchair height in each terminal.
AIRPORT HOTELS
There are no hotels on site. The nearest hotels to the airport are
Hotel Ciutat del Prat (tel: 933 788 333), Hotel Tryp Barcelona Airport
(tel: 933 781 000) and the Best Western Hotel Alfa Airport (tel:
933 362 564). Hotels can be booked at the hotel information desk
in Terminal B.
Car hire at Barcelona Airport is well worth the added
expense if traveling even a short distance from the city. Several
Car Hire companies run from the airport providing airport pick,
