Lying 10Km South West of Gerona, serving as the gateway to
Pyrenees, Gerona airport enthralls tourism in north-east Spain.
The Airport has an easy access to the A7-E15 motorway from
where you can with no trouble travel to North to the Pyrenees
or South towards Barcelona, or to the Costa Brava.
Regular buses and taxis service the airport, besides car hire
locations from all corners and downtown offices in and around
the Gerona airport area, has made traveling absolutely quick
and easy. Another interesting thing to note is that the sparkling
city of Barcelona is just 1hr 20 minutes ride from the Airport.
So next time you are at Gerona city; hop on to the train and
take a ride to Barcelona.

The information counters are placed at the Arrivals and Departures
halls along with a tourist information counter in the Arrivals
hall.
AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money and communications:
The airport terminals have the facility of changing their
currency at the Bureaux de change at standard exchange rates.
Eating and drinking:
Visitors, while waiting for their flights can take pleasure
sinking their teeth in to a wide variety of cuisine served
at the fast food restaurant and cafeteria, and snack bars.
The Cafe also serves a wide selection of snacks, sandwiches
etc along with a full range of alcoholic and non alcoholic
drinks.
Shopping:
Traveling… and there comes shopping as part and parcel
of traveling. The duty-free shopping facility offers all the
more reason to celebrate and shop. The exquisite shopping
complex at the airport terminal offers wide variety of perfumes,
jewellery, watches, leather and electronic goods, as well
as tobacco, wines, and spirits and lot more.
While shopping at the duty free shop, please bear in mind
that if you are traveling back to the UK or any other EU Country

Parking:
You will simply love this; the airport has a free parking
facility. It is located directly opposite the Terminal building
and has 760 spaces. If you want to use long term Gerona Airport
Parking, then the airport provides free transport to the Terminal
both on Departure and Arrival.
Nonetheless, if you wish to leave your car at the Airport
for the longer time, or are a frequent visitor, then you can
book a parking space with the Punt Central, for they provide
Long Term Gerona Airport parking which is within minutes of
the Terminal with a capacity of 2000 spaces.
Other facilities:
An insurance desk is located at the check-in area. There are
baby care areas, a first aid room in the Arrivals area, and
showers at the Departures boarding lounge.
Display screens are posted throughout the Terminal with accurate
flight information. Travelers can approach the friendly staffs
for assistance on boarding, luggage inquiry etc
DISABLED FACILITIES
Attended by a devoted ground squad, passengers are left to
feel at ease with caring thoughts. The airport has facilities
for disabled passengers like ramps, lifts, specially adapted
telephones, and toilets. Wheelchairs are provided by airlines
and the staff can also help wheelchair passengers through
customs and immigration; passengers wanting to avail such
facilities or any special assistance should request upon booking
a ticket. Disabled car parking spaces are available. There
are two lifts to take passengers to different levels.
Flight information, tourist information, hotel reservations,
car-rental, exchange bureau, left luggage facilities, all
can be arranged for visitors by the friendly airport staff.
