|
31/08/2004 - 14/07/2007
Palma de Mallorca lost in the competition to host the
world’s most famous sailing competition. However, Valencia
was the winning city and the first pre-regatta will
be in September, 2004. Two more events will follow that
year. Each of the four final Host City candidates will
be offered one of these events – and that includes Palma.
Several pre-regattas are scheduled in 2005 and 2006,
ahead of the 2007 opening Fleet Race regatta. The Louis
Vuitton Cup challenger races will begin in April 2007,
followed by the 32nd America’s Cup Match. The first
race is scheduled for the 23rd of June, 2007.

What is Futsal?
‘The origin of Futsal can be traced back to Montevideo,
Uruguay, in 1930 when Juan Carlos Ceriani devised a
five-a-side version of soccer for youth competion in
YMCAs. The game is played on basketball-sized courts,
both indoors and out without the use of sidewalls. The
term FUTSAL is the international term used for the game.
It is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese word for
"soccer", FUTbol or FUTebol, and the French
or Spanish word for "indoor", SALon or SALa.’
